My name is Maegan and this is my hand-meyd blog and project journal.  The gist: I’m Canadian, a food enthusiast and third generation maker. I’m a certified Environmental Professional with a B.Sc. degree from the University of Alberta. My day job involves sustainability management and environmental policy & program development, which I truly love. I also sit on a handful of local environmental chapters, boards & committees, including the City of Edmonton Environmental Advisory Committee…so I might be an eco nerd.

My free time is spent doing all the things you see on this blog! I’m fortunate enough to have such balance and boast as much passion for my work as I do for my hobbies. Passions on top of passions over here.

Speaking of passions…I love my lumberjack, my bike and my #yeg. I also love fashion and French Bulldogs. Fair warning if you follow me on Instagram, you will see and hear about my puppy ad nauseam. Her name is Juniper, she’s hilarious and I’m obsessed with her. All the sounds that come out of her tiny body are nothing short of miraculous and I will tell you all about them.

This blog is a young endeavor and a testament to my father, who taught me that you can never have too many projects or finish honing your skills. I strongly believe in maker culture and the hand-crafted movement, wherever possible I support hand made products and buy local. I believe we all have a responsibility to teach and motivate.

Find me on social media, ask a question or share your project! Feel free to reach out to me through my contact page. I’m always up for collaborations with fellow makers and feedback from loyal readers. In addition to social media, find me on TasteSpotting,  BlogHer  and  Food Bloggers of Canada! Also find me on Make Something Edmonton!

Welcome. Be inspired. Make something.
