Almond and Cucumber Water Face Mask

I was in Vancouver last week for work and despite my best intentions, my skin care regimen went right off the rails. I never seem to take proper care of my skin while I’m travelling. When I got home I decided to treat myself to a hydrating and exfoliating face mask to set things right again…I actually used it three nights in a row, it was that good.

This mask is pretty simple and if you make your own almond milk, all the ingredients you need are readily available. The cucumber water is so hydrating and the almond pulp provides the perfect level of exfoliation to gently refresh your skin.

Almond and Cucumber Water Face Mask (adapted from Raw Food Recipes)

  • 1/4 cup almond milk pulp
  • 1 tablespoons honey
  • 1 tablespoon cucumber water
  • 1 teaspoon French green clay (optional)
  • 1-2 drops jojoba or coconut oil

Roughly chop a 1-2 inch section of cucumber and place in a food processor. Puree until liquefied and then strain the pulp over a small bowl, mashing gently to extract all the cucumber water. Stir together all the ingredients until thoroughly combined and refrigerate until ready to use.

Gently apply the mask to your face and neck and allow to set for 10-15 minutes (or longer). To remove the mask, gently rub the mixture off in a circular motion and rinse with warm water. Repeat as desired!
