Handmade Lavender and Ground Coffee Exfoliating Bars

This past Mother’s Day I made my mom a gift-bag full of different homemade bath and body products – including her favorite whipped body butter and these ground coffee exfoliating bars!

One of my mom’s favorite fragrances is lavender, so I went that route with this DIY.  But feel free to use your favorite essential oil or experiment with different combinations.

Handmade Lavender and Ground Coffee Exfoliating Bars

  • 1/2 cup goat milk melt & pour soap base
  • 1 teaspoon coconut oil
  • 1/2 teaspoon jojoba oil
  • 15 drops lavender essential oil
  • 1-2 tablespoons fresh ground coffee
  • 10 drops vitamin E

Roughly chop the soap base and place in a double boiler over medium-high heat.  Add the other oils and stir continuously until completely liquefied.  Remove from heat and stir in the coffee grounds.  Mix thoroughly and pour evenly into one large soap mold or several small ones.

Allow to set overnight or until firm…and then get exfoliating!

Note: if you want a lighter colored bar or less pronounced coffee scent, simply rinse the coffee grounds in warm water before adding them to the recipe!
