My lumberjack surprised me with tickets to the Sasquatch Music Festival this year and after five days of camping in the Washington Gorge, known for its dust and heavy winds, my hair was in serious need of a repair treatment. Thankfully I had all these ingredients on hand after arriving home and they came together to make a remarkably moisturizing hair treatment, that I’m now going to repeat on a monthly basis! Follow along and treat your hair to this DIY…
Hot Coconut Oil Hair Mask with Avocado and Egg Yolks
- 1 avocado
- 1 egg yolk
- 1 tablespoon organic honey
- 2 tablespoons coconut oil
- 10 drops jojoba oil
In a large bowl, combine the avocado, egg yolk and honey. Thoroughly mash into a creamy-smooth paste and set aside. In a small saucepan, combine the coconut oil and jojoba oil and melt over low heat until warm to the touch. Pour the oil into the avocado mixture and sir to combine. Immediately apply to dry hair, working from root to tip until all hair is saturated. Twist hair into a bun; cover with a plastic shower cap and allow to set for an hour. Thoroughly rinse hair in the shower and follow with a gentle conditioner. Air dry or blow dry as desired. Enjoy!
