Simply put, this post is a Perfect Matcha Green Tea Latte recipe redux — this time with matcha infused salt and whipped coconut milk for the ultimate in latte creaminess!
I followed the tutorial up on The Kitchn to make my coconut whip and I recommend adding the optional vanilla, it blends perfectly with the hint of salt and syrup.
Matcha Green Tea Latte with Whipped Coconut Milk
- 1/4 cup hot water
- 1 teaspoon matcha powder
- 1 teaspoon organic agave syrup
- 1/4 cup milk
- 1/4 cup whipped coconut milk
- 1 pinch matcha salt
Combine the hot water and matcha powder and vigorously stir with a bamboo matcha whisk until no lumps remain. Stir in the agave syrup. Steam the milk with the steamer attachment on your espresso machine (or over the stove with a whisk). Pour the milk into the matcha tea and gently stir in the whipped coconut milk. Top with a pinch of matcha salt and enjoy!
FYI…you can also make your own matcha salt by combining a generous pinch (approximately 1/4 teaspoon) matcha powder with 1 tablespoon of sea salt!
